Scaffolding up, prep work begins
Masters of the caulking gun. Pete and I fill in the cracks.
Tyvek, and two layers of plastic mesh.
Pete and Stephen stucco, Dad cleans, and Tina checks on progress.
Stuccoing around the bolts is difficult. And yes when the job is done Pete is going on safari.
Prepping the front. We only had enough scaffolding to do 3/4 of the front.
Metal mesh is used on the corners for greater adhesion.
The front is ready for plaster. Same as the north side tyvek between the windows, all seams and joints taped, with two layers of plastic mesh.
Plastering begins.
The west side. The plaster will dry lighter, which is too bad since we really liked the darker colour when we saw it.
Stephen and I plaster. I'm using a little baby trowel for filling in around the bolts.
Note Pete's technique on the corners, he's working both sides at once.
Not only did Tina run the putz for the whole job but she had to carry all the buckets up to the front of the house. Where we hauled them by rope up onto the scaffolding.
The front finished.
The front doors. We think the plaster makes a huge improvement.
