The sides of the lights glow as well, but from the floor they are barely visible.

The bulbs are glued right onto the plastic rods. If they burn out they whole light pretty much has to be scrapped.

Installed and lit. This was taken at 10pm. The lights give off a glow, as well as projecting a faint spot onto the floor.
